The design is inspired by Japanese joinery that interlock components with no hardware. There is hidden hardware used here, but only to facilitate both assembly and disassembly.
The three stretchers on the left fit into the slots on the uprights (three on each side).
The bottom two slotted shelves slide over the stretchers and ‘clothes pin’ connectors - interlocking seven of the ten components!
The top shelf connects the uprights by insertion into key slots.
The remaining shelves simply slide over the remaining connectors.
No additional hardware required: only a rubber mallet may be needed to snugly fit the three interlocking shelves.
